About Norden and the Retirees' Club

Norden traces its roots back to the company that developed and manufactured the famed Norden Bombsight during World War II. This legacy continued until 2013 with the design and production of sophisticated electronics systems such as the game changing Joint Stars radar and the innovative Space Shuttle displays.

Over time, the original Norden Laboratories Corporation became part of larger entities. Initially, it was acquired by United Technologies (formerly United Aircraft), then by Westinghouse, and finally by Northrop Grumman Corporation. Along the way, the name changed to Norden Systems, and it was eventually integrated into Northrop Grumman Corporation's Electronic Systems Sector.

Norden closed its doors at the end of 2013, with all manufacturing and development moving to the Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems facility in Linthicum, MD.

The purpose of the Norden Retirees Club is to maintain connections among former Norden employees, encourage fellowship, promote recreational, social, and community service activities, and undertake any other worthwhile projects of interest to its members.
